Pinterest has become quite a leader in the photo-sharing social industry and it seems like they are actually going to bring a new trend among social enthusiasts. Just last week, Mashable reported that Pinterest has become the top traffic driver for retailers which means it already has a powerful background besides the 13 million visitors every month and a 136 Alexa rank.
That’s extraordinary considering the fact that Pinterest is online for less than 2 years now and without to much experience they managed to exceeded many expectations. Still, I’m sure that many of you are pretty new to this photo-sharing social experience and that’s why I wanted to present you some other great alternatives to big Pinterest.
This is my personal favorite of the list because Dribble really places great importance on quality and it also let’s you build a profile where you can showcase some of your works. The community is very friendly and also very active.
Pretty popular visual bookmarking tool and it has a nice catchy name too. Zootool let’s you interact with a large number of people in a nice way and they also provide tools for browsers so that you will be able to bookmark with ease.
A very friendly and active community of nice images from all kind of topics from technology and design to fashion and funny elements. Another great thing at VisualizeUs is that you can also install a Firefox addon which adds a right-click menu that can be used whenever you want to bookmark a image from whatever site you want.
4. Image Spark
Simple yet a very modern look which focuses it’s attention on ergonomics by letting you save, share and tag all kind of interesting web articles.
Simple and easy to navigate structure, the website is pretty popular and it actually has a PR 7 which can be very useful for your website promotion too.
Is a image bookmarking site based on WordPress which currently doesn’t allow any registrations, but you can already check out tons of great images and cool web content.
If on Pinterest you have the pin word for saving a bookmark, here is obviously the bump. On FreshBump you can bookmark any kind of content and use advanced categorizing and you can even upload your own image from PC.
A very nice image pinning system with a lot of great content and great members. The only thing that I don’t like at this website is that there’s way too much pink. The site allows you to create picture albums which are called “hearts”.
100% Image based website which is not very popular at the moment, but I’m sure it will be soon. Piccsy comes with great organization tools for it’s bookmarks so you have categories, tags, names and advanced search to help you find whatever you seek.
A classic way to display image bookmarks along with a simple vote button after every bookmark. What’s interesting at PicoCool is that here the dominant content is based on technology, architecture, culture and design…unlike most image bookmarking websites.
A very nice looking image bookmarking website where people feature everything they like, they desire along with the price of that product and some additional information about it.
This is the very first image bookmarking website dedicated exclusively to men users. While there are tons of image bookmarking sites for fashion, make-up products, women related products, I guess it is great to see some tech related, cars, sports etc. fans too!
PS: If you don’t have a Pinterest account and you would like an invite, then don’t hesitate to use the contact form! I would love to send you invites!
